My ex boyfriend and I are about to file custody and visitation papers with the courts over our 13 month daughter. He has mentioned that he may file for full custody because he feels he can provide a better lifestyle for her. If he does this, do I stand a chance of losing my daughter?

Hello -

I am trying to figure out how to draft a form or find a form for a joint dismissal for my divorce petition. My husband and I have reconciled and cannot find any info on how to do this. The clerk counter informed us that there is no form for our state. We are to draft our own stipulation.

While I appreciate my attorney and what he has done for me, I am trying to avoid paying more fees to him. He also advised me that he does not need to do this for me; that I can do this on my own.

Any advice is greatly appreciated!

P.S. Divorce with child.

I am the mother of a 13 month old daughter. Her father and I have recently separated and were never married. He is planning to go to a lawyer to get visitation squared away and then plans to move to Florida because his family owns a home there and he wouldn't have to pay rent. He is currently fileing bankruptsy and is unemployed. He plans to look for employment there and would like to take our daughter to visit his family in New York eventually.

He has made it very clear that he would love to have custody of our daughter but doesn't plan to fight me for her. I am very concerned that if he takes her out of state, I will never see her again. Is there any way I can keep him from taking out of state for visitation?

Will my past come forth to haunt her?

Hi. I just have a quick question.

I know I shouldn't be asking this, as I am not a party to the case, but I will try anyway.

My girlfriend of almost a year has 2 children. She has full custody of both children. Her older child has a legal father, but he is not involved in any aspects of the child's life. The younger child also has a legal father. He is doing a graduated visitation deal, to where he gets her son for 3 hours now, and extra hours are added later down the road.

Now my question, I love my girlfriend with all my heart and I want her to be my wife. Mostly I am worried that my 2 previous DUIs will hurt her in court if they ever need to go back. One DUI was in 2003 and the other in 2007. I have not had a single drink since the second DUI.

I want to ask her to marry me, but am afraid to, because I know this situation is worrisome for her. At this point, the child's father doesn't even know I exist. I do not want to do anything to hurt any future court proceedings for my girlfriend, so if that means I have to let go, I will. But I really do not want to.

Will my previous DUIs hurt my girlfriend's case?

Thank you for taking the time to answer.

I was wondering what move should I make next if my wife and I purchased a home during the marriage (on a VA) and now she doesn't want to have to buy me out of the house. There was a quitclaim deed signed by me but will that give her the right to bypass the marital property deal? And is there anything that I can do to keep the process (divorce) going. As of now it has stalled awaiting her and her attorney.
