Hello .. I was the subject of a federal search warrant by several out of state federal agents about 15.5 months ago. About 6 months ago I received an email saying I would have my stuff in a couple of weeks. About 4.5 months ago I received an email saying it would be a "few more weeks due to circumstances beyond their control." Both of those emails were unsolicited and initiated by the out of state agent. I still do not have return of my property. I did not do what the warrant alleged, only was involved in roleplay scenerios where it happened that others I spoke with may have taken a little more seriously and the agents seemed much more interested in them then me. I do not care at this point about my actual stuff, but I do want closure .. especially with plans to marry in a few months. I also do not want to rock any boats. Am I ever going toget it back or am I supposed to file a motion (which would cost more than what the stuff is worth)? Any advice would be great.

| hi. i live in nort carolina and i got charged with consumption under age 19. a couple weeks later i got a possession under half ounce charge and another consumpion charge. im trying to combine the court dates so i only have to pay court fees once. the court fees are 125 but im wondering how much i might have to pay for my charges and what punishments i might get? i am 17 and these are my first offenses. i dont have enough money for a lawyer. i think they might have illegaly searched me the second time because they randomly pulled me over on the sidewalk while i was walking and said "whats in your bag?" and before i could say anything, she was feeling on my bag and opened it without my permission. there was an empty bottle of alcohol which made them breathalize me and get consumption. they also found a little bit of weed. how should i handle this in court by myself? can i get out of anything? and what is the best deal i can get? thanks for your help!

Can I be held legally liable for someone cashing two of my checks without my knowledge? I'm being threatened, because they can no longer find the person who did this. They said that because that person signed a statement that they were not aware that I did not have money in my account that person can not be charged and now I am being targeted.

Is it a crime to protest without a permit in Pittsburgh? Police used teargas on protestors at the g20 in Pittsburgh because they didn't have a permit:

Is this really a requirement by law in Pittsburgh? Does it only apply to street protests where the protestors march on the road, so if they protested on the footpath would it be legal?

| My 18 year old Son was arrested for DWI in GIlbert Az. for smoking Marijuana. He did give a urine sample. The police said it was a Criminal misdamenor....Does he need an attorney?

| I am from Tucson Az and I missed my court date which was on August 26 and I thought It was on the 28th. I have been meaning to go but I have been having SUPER huge family problems. This is my 1st time ever doing anything wrong and I dont know what to do. Ive heard storys that if I dont have money to pay half of my fine that I go straight to jail. I cant go to jail I would literally flip out and end up doing something VERY stupid. Please someone help me I need it VERY bad.

Hi there i am a UK citizen that was done for a DUI last month, result 0.09 my court date is on Monday, i paid $1100 in bail - state is South carlolina, but my question is what do i do now....as i am a non us citizen should i just forget about it....or get a lawyer so they can attend the court date. Also what are the result if convicted, is it just a fine ? if so how much? or jail time. Final question i work for a cruise company so i need to know wether this will effect my entre to the USA i nthe future

I live in canada, and im 21 years old. i was charged with possesion of a controlled substance contrary to the controlled drugs and substances act. I was in my car and got pulled over where they found 7 grams of marijuana. they released me on a court summons. I am done school and work full time, most of the employers in my business do background checks.
I cannot have this charge on my record. What can i do, what should i do?
I have no idea where to start or what i should be doing.

| Quick question, need legal advice not moral or ethical comments, please. My brother is in a jam. He snatched a woman's purse, taking only a bottle of narcotic medication and leaving the purse and the rest of the contents inside the retail establishment. He was eventually caught and is awaiting trial. Here's the catch, the medication did not belong to the victim. The victim told police (twice) nothing was missing from her purse but wants to pursue charges. My brother still has the info from the bottle with the original owner's name and info. So, neither party is mentioning this medication as of now. I spoke with a police officer about this and he said if this medication is brought up in court, that both parties could be charged with possession of a controlled substance. So, my question is, is their any way the victim could be persuaded in a very subtle manner to drop the charges? His attorney doesn't think it is a good idea. I disagree, I know what he did was wrong but in this circumstance, the victim has some guts trying to pursue this. They know what was stolen and it was illegally in their possession (hence not telling the cops) and they should drop this. Any suggestions?

If I'm a doorguy/bouncer at a bar and a fight breaks out; how can I legally react?
I only ask because the other day there was a fight of about 15 people; I was breaking the fight up and some guy started getting into it with me. I'm fairly trained in jiu-jitsu, I can definitely do some damage, but all I did in this situation was protect myself. I got him in a headlock and dropped him to the ground but he was still punching up at me, if I went to do an arm bar or something of that sort would that be using excessive force?
What am I legally allowed to do as a doorguy/bouncer?
What if I happen to be there (not on the clock and a fight breaks out); am I still legally allowed to get involved?

| i live in pa i was arrested on 9/8/09 and released the next day. i was issued a pfa that day and told that i would have to go to a hearing for that. the thing is as far as my charges from the police have never come yet. i went to the police station and was told they should be there and if not they are in the mail. i asked what i was being charged with and he looked and said it wasnt decided yet. how long is it gonna be until they cant charge me. its been 11 days since the arrest and i hear that i should have had a pfa hearing already.

I have a friend in trouble with theft. Basically, she's absent minded, but from what it looks like, she pocketed money that was left behind in a machine. Thats what it looks like, but really she forgot about it and found out later but was too scared to put it back...it never left the building. Anyways, she got fired, and got a ticket for theft. This is her first offense, no bad history, and just moved here. She has an arraingment court thing coming up and I have a couple questions:
First, on the ticket, the time for the court date is wrong (officer messed up) and the 'date issued only is different from violate date' is not written in.
Second, how do you get into the diversion program? Would it help if she did?
Third, do you have to plea first to get considered or should you ask before your court date and the arraignment?
How would you plea to this, because in the eyes of the company, they saw her take it, but really is was a mistake. As of right now, we don't have an attorney, because we got advice that she'll probably get the deferred route. We can't have this end up on her record so as of now all I have are questions.

| GA. Boyfriend was set up for a deal. They got him in the parking lot then came and searched my car found a small piece of crack sitting in my cup holder. They got me for possession of cocaine and boyfriend wants to claim it.

| I received a knock at my door and it was a package carrier dont remember the name of the carrier. I signed for a package that was not in my name. 3 minutes after signing my house was busted into I believe they had a search warrant. Anyway they searched my house and found 4lbs of marijuana, some marijuana that was bagged up n a pouch and I later discovered at the police station that the box I signed for contained 6lbs of high grade marijuana. I was arrested taking down to the police station, finger printed, picture taking and then released later that night without bail. I have several felony convictions however I have none since 1992 also I think I have a possession conviction around 1989. I would like to know why I was released without bail and what type of sentence am I looking at? Is there any attorney's with experience willing to help me.What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?

| My partner has just been arrested for domestic assult upon myself. During the assult he said several times that he was going to kill me, this was his intention. He then impressed his thumb and finger deep into my eyesockets. This could have blinded me or even killed me. Luckily I had no serious injuries but as his intention was to kill me and he did an act that could have killed me could he be convicted for murder / manslaughter? And how would this stand up in court?
