  <title>Poss. stolen property question</title>

<description>First of all, I know what I did was wrong, I blame no one but myself, and I am trying to rectify the situation. As a background: I am over 18, no priors of any kind, and live in North Carolina.

Here's what happened: I was involved with possessing stolen property, a computer, some tools, etc. I did not steal it, but I housed it and helped move it for an acquaintance--very dumb idea, I get it.

Anyway, the person who's stuff it is shows up at my house--not sure how he got the address--and he claims &quot;your friends ratted you out&quot; and has a picture posted off myspace of someone who was supposed to be keeping one of the items safe, displaying it. (Wow, smart.)

Anyway, long story short, the guy tells me that he will not involve police if he gets all of his stuff back so, in the interest of saving my own ass, I take him around and get all or most of his stuff back--all the valuable pieces intact.

I trust him when he says he won't involve the cops but I don't know if he will get mad again and go to them or not. I tend to think he won't because he sells drugs and he knows that I know that--also, it was probably a motivator in the whole robbery/theft thing. He didn't mention getting the drugs back at all, which is good because I never saw that stuff.

The point: I didn't steal the stuff and there is no way to prove that I did but I did know about it and have some stuff.

My question is, now that he has it back, can I be charged with anything and, if so, what?

<description>A family member of mine was assaulted in 2008 in NC. The assailent

was convicted but served no jail time. He is currently on probation.

The victim had a restraining order filed last Setp.

If the restraining order does not get renewed, is the victim still safe from being contacted by the assailant under the terms of the probation??

Thanks!

  <description>State name: North Carolina

Age: 21

So I was at work the other day and watching the last two minutes of my shift pass when someone walks up and asks for a black and mild(Cigar). He looked young so I ID'd him and sold it after checking. Except I screwed up... I saw the date of birth and my mind said &quot;18&quot; even though it was 17... a stupid mistake I haven't made before and there was an undercover officer behind him.

I was given a court date and I just want to know what to expect... this is my first offense and my first conviction of any kind. I had a clean record before hand.

<description>I was charged with DWI in North Carolina during March. At the time, I had an Illinois DL. Last month, I obtained a North Carolina DL. This month, I was convicted of DWI in NC.

Do I need to file anything or let IL know about my DWI? If so, what do I need to do?

<description>I just got convicted for DWI. I'm planning on enrolling in law school next year. The law school application asks if I have ever been convicted of any crime and I'll have to answer for that: DWI.

Will that prevent me from getting an admission into a law school? Does this mean that I'm never getting into a law school?
